from many cities). Situated in the heart of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, there are plenty of
things to do after you enjoy that great country breakfast.  

There is still time and good weather  to tube the Shenandoah River from Watermelon Park, (540.955.1181) or take a ride with River Riders guides for white water rafting, tubing, biking, canoeing and kayaking  (800.326.RAFT).

Click on special events for a  list of other annual events.  You may choose to visit Bear's Den, Blandy Farm or Sky Meadows State Park to do some hiking and bird watching.   Visit Harpers' Ferry National Park, The Museum of the Shenandoah in Winchester, or attend an auction to purchase a special antique or shop for wine and snacks at Locke's Country Store in Millwood.. You'll find a listing of Local Music offers lots of really good entertainment year round. 

Of special note:   Be sure to get your tickets now for this season of the  Berryville Bluegrass Concerts October 9, November 7th, December 11, January 8th, February 12th, March 12.  Call Frank Jurney at 540-837-2187.  $22 advance / $25 at the door (but concerts are often sold out in advance.)

Grist Mill Demonstrations  end Oct 2 until re-opening next spring.  But Oct 2-17 the Mill hosts "ART at THE MILL", a juried art show which serves as the primary fundraiser for the Mill and Clarke County History Museum in Berryville, and one of the premier art shows in the mid-Atlantic region.

 “Historic Long Branch ” invites you to tour the elegant manor home and gardens and come back in December for candlelight tours of this special home decorated for the holidays.

Virginia State Arboretum 700 acres of nature's beauty for hiking and bird watching.  A lovely way to celebrate the rural heritage and fabulous views of the Blue Ridge in Clarke County Virginia. 

You may want to attend the Monday Auction, by Hash Auctions here in Berryville. If you've never been to an auction you'll be surprised how much fun it is.
